Lucas R. Beatty, DDS, MD
One of only a few doctors in Washington fully licensed as both a dentist and physician, Dr. Beatty’s training has been exceptional. He attended dental school at UCLA School of Dentistry and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). During his time at UCLA he was honored with being on the Deans Honor List each year of his dental school education.
Dr. Beatty then attended medical school at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He had the opportunity to train at several world renowned hospitals during medical school including The Cleveland Clinic, Metropolitan Health Hospital, and University Hospitals. Dr. Beatty continued as a resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Case Western Reserve University. He also studied abroad as a registrar at prestigious Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia gaining invaluable experience in craniomaxillofacial, trauma, and implant surgeries.
Dr. Beatty has a great passion for placement of dental implants to restore function and smiles to his patients. An experienced implant surgeon, Dr. Beatty has placed several thousand dental implants. Further, he received advanced training in general anesthesia allowing patients the opportunity for a safe and comfortable atmosphere during all procedures. From extraction of wisdom teeth to the placement of dental implants, Dr. Beatty offers patients IV anesthesia allowing for comfortable, anxiety-free procedures.
Prior to practicing in the State of Washington, Dr. Beatty practiced full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery in Tucson, Arizona for four years. He is licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine in the states of Washington and Arizona. He is also a licensed physician in California. Dr. Beatty is an active member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Washington State Medical Association, Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Seattle King County Dental Society. He is a member of the Flying Samaritans where he volunteered to provide free medical and dental treatment to impoverished patients at clinics in Mexico.
Dr. Beatty and his wife have five children. They enjoy reading, traveling, and attending sporting events. Dr. Beatty is a lifelong supporter of Boy Scouts of America and is a member of National Eagle Scout Association. He is also an avid cyclist, runner, motorsports enthusiast and holds the rank of brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
